Last weekend we started a project in the laundry room. When we had the backsplash done in the kitchen recently, we bought some extra tile to eventually redo the floors in the laundry room and guest bathroom. When the washing machine started leaking a few weeks back, we took the opportunity to give the whole laundry room a makeover. Fortunately, we already had most of the supplies on hand. We used a $50 gift card to Home Depot to buy just about everything else. It was nice to be able to give the room a facelift without breaking the bank!
As is usually the case, our weekend project turned into a week-long project. I guess that's not so bad considering we did all of the work ourselves and Chuck still had to go to his regular job every day (which was a bit painful since it was spring break week in Texas). The worst part about it was not being able to do laundry for 7 days! Here are some pictures of our project. It's a pretty small room, especially with the washer and dryer in place, but I'm really happy with the update.

We painted the walls brown and the cabinets white (by the way, I just got my hair cut at the end of last week, so it's not quite that long anymore!):

That's an adorable laundry room! Almost makes you want to do laundry :) I've been trying to talk my husband into redoing the laundry for a few weeks now. There's just something nice about a fresh, clean room to wash and fold in!
LOVE IT! I am so impressed with Chuck- When you visit tell him we have some projects around house we are looking forward to him doing.
Man...I bet you really hated to see that old flooring go. Pretty sucktacular! Great job! I bet your laundry room always looks that good. (sigh)
You need some sock art, though. Every laundry room needs some sock art...
It looks amazing! I love the wall color! I wish you could come and decorate MY house. :-)
Oh yeah, and thanks for sending me the link to the poem "Evangeline!" It makes me like the name even more, which is good because it has been Matt's #1 choice for awhile. I had heard about it before, but never read it.
I love what y'all did to the laundry room. I've been patiently waiting to have some mula saved to put down hard wood floors in the living room and master bed room.
That room looks awesome! Super super awesome. I might even like to do laundry if my room looked like that.
I'm still working on the kitchen...
It looks so nice! You guys are so handy and have very good taste.
Wow, the remodel looks great. It is so cheerful and the white cabinets and chocolate walls are so beautiful.
We just put up new curtain rods and curtains in the living room and kitchen. That was the extent of our remodeling this weekend. Maybe one day we will redo a whole room. Hope you enjoy your time in the laundry room, you will definitely enter the room with a smile!
WOW! I love it, especially the floor! Now I am eager to give my laundry room a facelift!
Looks great! Well done, I'm not so good with do it yourself things! :-(
Wow! You guys did great! I definitely have some rooms you guys could do. :)
I love your laundry room. I made my husband come in and look at the pictures. Hopefully it will inspire him.
Your laundry redo looks awesome! What a warm and clean room it is. I have many rooms I'd love to get updated but I have been working on my kitchen living room lately (they connect by way of my eat in kitchen) so that would be my project du jour(s) lately. It's work but it's invigorating to see change.
Love your new laundry room. What a cute little space to wash all your unmentionables!! As you know, we are building our house so I will have the very first opportunity to really put my touch into it. I am so looking forward to it that I can hardly concentrate on everyday, normal life!
It looks awesome!
You know me, I'm constantly wanting to make updates! :)
