I mentioned a few weeks ago that we were going to our college homecoming in Louisiana. We had a blast that weekend, and our team won, which is always a bonus!

Last weekend was the annual hot air balloon festival at NASA. Although we didn't attend, we can always see the balloons from our house. Chuck got up early that Saturday to go down the road and take a few photos.

Later that day we went to the open house at Johnson Space Center. The coolest part is walking through Mission Control -- this is the first time since 9/11/2001 that they have opened it up to visitors. Here are a few pics inside:
Lastly, in the spirit of Halloween and college football, we carved a pumpkin with our school's logo on it.
I think it turned out so cute!

Ok Stacey, I love the way our Lord works. I grew up in Ruston and went to LA Tech. Glad you all had such a great weekend. I am very impressed with the carved pumpkin!!!
Oh, Stace, look how cute y'all are! Love these pictures! What a fun and eventful month. Mr. would be so psyched to have gone into MC at NASA! Speaking of NASA, we are going to Kennedy again this weekend only this time with MY parents (last time was his). Once when we lived in CO we went to the hot air balloon festival and it was amazing! all the colors and how truly huge they were up close. I've always wanted to ride in one. :) Glad to hear y'all had a great month.

The pumpkin is cute. We had fun carving pumpkins last year, but i don't know what we'll do this year. Giving it some thought.
I'm glad that in the midst of "doctober", you still had so many fun moments. The pumpkin is so cute. So is that kitchen you are sitting in! Is that yours? I'm glad you had fun times!

@Amy - indeed, we had A LOT of doctor's appointments this month, but thankfully we had fun things scheduled to balance it out. Yes, that's our kitchen. Thanks for the compliment!
Glad you all like the pumpkin. I have to admit that "Chuck" did all the intricate carving. All I really did was scoop out the guts. :)

things have been crazy with the upcoming deployment and a trip to Disney but i wanted to say i'm glad your appt went well and you guys feel good about moving forward. i also wanted to say your pumpkin carving skills are great!
